I'm happy to announce the release of The Five Elements (The Alchemancer: Book One) in audiobook format!

Audiobooks are something I've wanted to offer for some time. In fact, it's one of the most requested formats readers ask me about, which isn't much of a surprise when you consider that audiobooks are currently the most popular format by which people consume books.

I've resisted the audiobook calling up to this point simply because of costs and other priorities. But then Google came along with their AI narration feature, something I wrote about recently. I have to admit that I was skeptical before and, despite the surprisingly good narration quality, I remain skeptical now. Want to listen to a sample? Scroll down and give the first chapter of The Five Elements a try.

The question for me is if there is an audience for digitally narrated audiobooks. I don't know the answer, but I'm attempting to find one with the release of this first book. If there is demand for it, I'll happily release the next book in the series and will add this format to the options when I release book three. If, on the other hand, there is no market for it, I'll pull this one down and may take another look at human narration depending on where my budget is at that time.

The audiobook of The Five Elements is available exclusively in the Google Play Bookstore and Kobo. If you're a Google Play customer, I have a coupon code you can use that will get you 100% of the retail price (that's right, it's free) for a limited time (from 6/15 until the end of the month). The code is 24UR48F4Q9Z4A.

Let me know where you land on digital narration. I'm genuinely curious about other people's opinions on this.
