Zokore

Zokore was born into the Bloodfang clan, one of the most ruthless haurek blood clans in the depths of the Underland. From his earliest days, he was raised in the violent traditions of haurek society, where only the strongest and most cunning survived to positions of authority. His clan specialized in raiding surface settlements and capturing slaves for the goblin lords who ruled the deeper territories.

As a young haurek, Zokore quickly distinguished himself through his tactical cunning and his willingness to embrace the brutal superstitions of his people. He learned to read omens in the roll of bones and the alignment of stars, becoming particularly skilled at interpreting signs of battle fortune. His fellow haureks began to look to him for guidance when strange happenings occurred, viewing him as one touched by the dark spirits that governed their fate.

Zokore's rise through the ranks came through a combination of strategic thinking and ruthless ambition. Unlike many haureks who relied purely on brute strength, he understood the value of discipline and coordinated tactics. He led successful raids against surface settlements, always managing to bring back valuable slaves and plunder while minimizing losses to his own forces. His ability to maintain shield walls and defensive formations even under heavy arrow fire earned him respect among the haurek warriors.

When Lord Gral began assembling his great invasion force to take the Simmaron Forest, Zokore's reputation as a competent battle captain made him a natural choice for command. He was given leadership of an elite company of haurek warriors, tasked with securing key strategic positions like Holden Bridge to prevent escape routes and cut off reinforcements. Zokore embraced this role, seeing it as an opportunity to prove his worth on a grander stage than the typical Underland clan warfare he was accustomed to.

His contempt for the surface dwellers runs deep, viewing them as weak and soft compared to the hard-forged warriors of the Underland. Zokore genuinely does not understand concepts like surrender or mercy, having been raised in a culture where such ideas are seen as fatal weaknesses. To him, battle is either victory or death, and the idea of laying down arms is so foreign to his worldview that he can only mock it when confronted with the concept. His loyalty to Lord Gral and the invasion is absolute, driven by both fear of his superior and genuine belief in the supremacy of goblin-kind over the surface world.
